Leadership

Pastor Joel Dover is the founding Pastor of Calvary Chapel Newnan. Joel was led of the Lord to start CCN in 2014 and the church began as a Bible Fellowship meeting in a local home. Joel has served churches in Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia, and has been in vocational ministry since 1999. Joel holds a D.Min. from Luther Rice Seminary, an M.Div. and M.A.R. from Liberty Theological Seminary, and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina @ Wilmington.  Joel is married to his college sweetheart Kimberly, and together they have three children.  When not teaching, Joel enjoys gardening, playing the guitar, and wood working.  Joel was ordained by the Faith Baptist Church of Faith NC in 2001.

JP Garrison joined the Calvary Chapel Newnan staff in 2019 and has worn a number of hats. JP served our student ministry for seven years, and presently oversees Discipleship, Assimilation, and Worship.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Regent University. JP is married to Stephanie and they have two young children. JP was raised in east Tennessee where he developed and still holds a fierce loyalty to the Tennessee Volunteers. His hobbies include watching the Atlanta Braves, reading good books, watching good movies, losing keys, and going on walks (all with his wife). Pastor JP was ordained at CCN in 2020.

Nick has led our Men's Ministry for several years and joined our staff officially in early 2026 as Assistant Pastor over Students and Men's Ministry. He has a huge heart for discipleship and longs to see both the students and the men of CCN grow in intentional relationships with one another and with the Lord. Nick and his wife Kate have three children, Melanie, Jude, and Bethany and have been a part of Calvary Chapel Newnan since 2024. Nick's passion is to help shepherd students and men to a deeper relationship with God. 

Nikki moved to the area from Colorado in 2021 and quickly plugged into serving at Calvary Chapel as a church member.  When the church was ready to hire a full time Director of Children's Ministry in 2023, Nikki was the obvious choice.  Nikki leads our children's ministries at CCN and is also the director of our Steadfast Homeschool Co-op.  She has a massive heart for kids and brings years of experience to our Calvary Kids ministry.  Nikki is married to Brian, and they have three daughters. 

Brittany Leatherwood joined the team in March 2025 eager to provide administrative and ministry support to leaders and staff. She is passionate about managing communications and social media as well as  helping  to ensure that church operations run smoothly and efficiently. She and her husband Daniel enjoy a busy life with four boys at home.  

Rebecca Clarke joined our staff in February of 2026 and she brings a contagious joy to our team. She uses her gifts and talents to provide vital administrative support to ministries like youth, children's, 1st impressions, and more. Having grown up in Calvary Chapel churches, she feels thankful for the community that poured into her and now calls her to serve. In her free time, she runs a small handmade jewelry business and loves any and everything creative. 

Greg Smith has been with CCN since the early days when the church was started in 2014.  Greg is a vocational accountant, and holds both Masters and Bachelors degrees in accounting from Kaplan University.  Greg oversees the financial operations at CCN and coordinates volunteers who serve in our accounting ministry.  Greg is a retired member of the US Armed Forces where he served in the USA and overseas, and is married to his true love Theresa.  Greg and Theresa have three grown boys and numerous grandchildren.  

Brian Onofrey is one of our elders here at Calvary Newnan and has been a faithful part of our body for many years. He and his wife, Lisa, have two children- Joseph and Anna. 

Jeremy was ordained as an Elder at Calvary Newnan in 2024. He also leads the 832 Young Adults Ministry alongside his wife Lara. They love Jesus and have a huge heart for serving the local church. They're passionate about discipling youth and young adults as they grow in their walk with the Lord. Jeremy and Lara have 3 children, Max, Will, and Cate. 

Julie Ogle serves as our Women's Ministry Leader here at Calvary Newnan. She is passionate about bringing women together in community to encourage, challenge, and spur one another on.  She is excited about growing spiritually with the Ladies of CCN while having fun together!
