The gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation of Gospel Partnership. To use Paul's phrase in Philippians 1:5, when we partner in the gospel, we partner in a story so much bigger than the story of Calvary Chapel. When we received the gospel and accepted the invitation to follow Christ, we also accepted the invitation to be a part of a gospel community of faith: the church. When we are partnered with Jesus, we are united in gospel partnership with one another. Throughout the history of the church, there has always been a need for followers of Jesus to clarify their commitment to one another within the context of the local church.

In Gospel Partnership, we make commitments to one another. As the Pastors and Elders of Calvary Chapel, we commit to:

• Appoint Elders and Deacons according to the scriptures. (1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4)
• Pursue the Spirit's guidance as we lead the church and steward her resources well. (Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 5:1-4)
• Care for the church by shepherding her well, praying for her, teaching the scriptures, equipping people for the ministry, protecting her from false teachers, and lovingly exercising correction when necessary. (Matthew 7:15, 18:15-20, 28:16-20, Ephesians 4:11-16, James 5:14, 1 Peter 5:1-4, Acts 20:27-31, 1 Corinthians 5, Galatians 6:1, 1 Timothy 1:3-7, 4:16, 2 Timothy 4:1-5, 1 John 4:1)
• Give priority to the shepherding needs of our Gospel Partners in matters of discipleship, benevolence, counseling, care, and church discipline. (Galatians 6:10, Acts 4:34)
• Be accessible and accountable to the Gospel Partners and to lead by example in following all that is found in the Gospel Partnership Promise. 

Before committing to a local church it is vitally important to ensure that you are aligned theologically. Before becoming a Gospel Partner at Calvary Chapel Newnan, we encourage you to know our basic biblical and theological beliefs (Core Beliefs). If there is anything in basic orthodox Christian doctrine that you explicitly reject, we ask that you gracefully refrain from pursuing Gospel Partnership at this time and reach out to a Pastor or Elder for further discussion. 

As a Gospel Partner, we make commitments to one another. As a Gospel Partner you would commit to:

• Agreement in our Core Beliefs
• To the Gospel Partnership Promise (from ch.1 class)
• Adhere to accept Accountability
• Faithfully attend and serve using your gifts and talents to impact the Gospel efforts at CCN and in our community.
